The Winter Holiday

     The first week of this winter holiday I stood at home doing a very interesting thing: helping my mum with the Christmas arrangements. I cleaned my room and helped her with the cake. The next week I relaxed, in spite of the arrival of the New Year, we didn't make any preparations because we went to Austria and spent four wonderful days at the Penz West Hotel. We did some skiing and snowboarding and we visited the old city centre. I spent the third week at home watching some new films and doing some Maths.
      I liked my winter holiday!

     Nowadays a great number of people use mobile phones. Some cannot imagine living without them, while others belive that we should avoid using them.
     Having a mobile phone has many advantages. Firstly, you carry it everywhere so communication is easy, even in emergency situations. What is more, you can use your mobile to take or exchange pictures, listen to music, play games, surf the Internet, download ringtones and so on.
     On the other hand, there are also many disadvantages. To begin with, mobiles can be harmful to our health when used a lot. In addition, children, teenagers and even adults can be addicted to them. For example, lessons are interrupted at school or car accidents are caused.
     To sum up, mobile phones have both advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I belive it is a very useful gadget. However, people should use it wisely.

Essay: Community service

     Teenage crimes is an unfortunate fact of life. The question is, though, is community service for young offenders a good idea?
     To begin with, there are many benefits of community service. Community service makes sure young offenders are punished and benefits others at the same time. It takes away their freedom and it makes them think about their role in society. For example, cleaning up public areas or looking after people in the community force young offenders to put other people's needs before their own.
     On the other hand, community service has its disadvantages. If dangerous criminals are allowed to live in society, people might be at risk. Furthermore, young offenders who only receive community service may not think that it's a serious punishment, and they won't be put off commiting other crimes in the future.
     In conclusion, I think community service should only be used for criminals who are not dangerous and take it seriously as a punishment. Consequently, each case must be judged individually to make sure that the punishment given is suitable for each criminal.

      It was  the  Halloween day and because it was Wednesday I went to school. At school I saw   some kids dressed in witches, ghosts and zombies.
     After I finished classes I went to afterschool to stay there till  my parents finish work. After I did my HW, the director came and invited us to the Halloween show that was held where the little kids eat their lunch.
   The show began with two kids sitting on the stairs of an old house in the woods  talking about different   things   when    one of  them got up and said that he wants to go to school. The other kid told him that a storm is coming and they have to go to their homes. Also he mentioned that when it's storm outside all the spirits gather in the forest and not to touch them. The storm began and there were a lot of spirits. The kid wasn't afraid so he got near them and touched them. Suddenly his teeth turned black and all his skin was covered with spiders. He tried to find a way out but he met  a witch. Now he leaves with the witch and when it is dark   and  stormy  outside they scary people that go in the forest. The other kid said that he might come out and scare you.
      The show was over. The courtain fell and there was a moment of silence. All of a sudden I felt something cold touching my hand. There was Clara,my friend. She wanted me to help her with her HW.

Tangled

     A drop of sunlight falls to the ground and grows into a magical flower with healing powers. A woman named Gothel uses it to keep herself young by singing to it. Centuries later, a queen becomes ill while pregnant, and the king orders a search for the legendary flower. The queen is healed after being fed the flower, and gives birth to a daughter, Rapunzel, whose golden hair has absorbed the abilities of the flower. Gothel tries to steal a lock of Rapunzel's hair, but, once cut, the hair turns brown and loses its power. So she kidnaps Rapunzel to raise as her own child in a high tower, telling her it is for her own safety.

     Every year, on Rapunzel's birthday, her parents and their subjects release thousands of sky lanterns, in the hope that the lost princess will return. For her 18th birthday, Rapunzel asks Gothel for permission to go outside the tower to see the source of the annual floating lights, but Gothel refuses. Meanwhile, Flynn Rider and the Stabbington brothers steal the tiara of the lost princess. During the ensuing chase, Maximus, horse of the Captain of the Guards, is separated from his rider but continues on his own. Flynn outwits his accomplices, takes the tiara, and stumbles upon Rapunzel's tower. He climbs up into the tower, but is knocked unconscious with a frying pan by Rapunzel who puts him in a wardrobe. When Gothel returns, Rapunzel tries to show her the captive Flynn to prove she is capable of handling the outside world, but Gothel cuts her off by saying she is never leaving the tower. So Rapunzel instead asks Gothel for a special paint, the ingredients for which require three days' of round-trip travel. Gothel leaves, and Rapunzel tells Flynn that she will give him the tiara back if he takes her to see the lights. Flynn agrees. While on route, he takes her to the Snuggly Duckling Inn, which is full of Gaul thugs, in hopes of scaring her into giving up her quest. The thugs, however, are charmed by Rapunzel, who encourages them to follow their dreams.

      Gothel returns early to the tower to find Rapunzel gone but finds the tiara. She then teams up with the Stabbington brothers so she can get Rapunzel back and the brothers can get revenge on Flynn. Meanwhile, the guards invade the tavern, and chase Rapunzel and Flynn to a dam which collapses. Flynn and Rapunzel become trapped in a flooding cave. Believing he is about to die, Flynn admits his true name: Eugene Fitzherbert. Rapunzel admits her hair glows when she sings, then realizes they can use her hairlight to find a way out. Rapunzel later uses her hair to heal Flynn's injured hand. Flynn tells Rapunzel that he was an orphan who dreamed of being like the storybook hero that inspired his alias, but Rapunzel tells him she likes Eugene better than Flynn. When Flynn goes to gather firewood, Gothel meets Rapunzel insisting that Flynn does not care for her and gives Rapunzel the tiara, suggesting that she test Flynn by giving it to him. The next morning, Maximus confronts Flynn but Rapunzel befriends the horse and convinces him to help them instead. Arriving at the kingdom, Flynn takes Rapunzel to see the lanterns. There, Rapunzel gives Flynn back the tiara. Flynn spies his old accomplices and leaves Rapunzel to give them the tiara, realizing that he cares more for Rapunzel. However, the brothers tie him up on a boat and sail him across the lake. They claim Flynn betrayed Rapunzel as they attempt to kidnap her for her hair's power, but Gothel rescues her and takes her back to the tower. Later, reflecting on what she had seen during her adventure in the kingdom, Rapunzel realizes she is the lost princess and attempts to flee the tower.

     Meanwhile, Flynn is arrested and sentenced to death, but he is rescued by Maximus and the Gaul thugs from the inn. Flynn races and climbs up back to the tower where Gothel stabs him from behind and prepares to take a struggling Rapunzel to a new hiding place. Rapunzel tells Gothel that she will stop resisting if she can heal Flynn. Gothel agrees, but before Rapunzel can heal him, Flynn cuts her hair which subsequently turns brown and loses its power causing Gothel to age rapidly, fall out of the tower, and turn into dust. With his last breath, Flynn declares his love for Rapunzel who cries, and the healing power of her tear revives him. Returning to the kingdom, Rapunzel is reunited with the King and Queen. Flynn then closes the film, telling the audience that he readopted his original name, and he and Rapunzel eventually get engaged and married.

Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos

      Puss is riding his horse through the desert when he is captured by Spanish knights. He is then taken to Princess Alexandra Belagomba, whose "Heart of Fire" Ruby, the crown jewel of her kingdom, is missing. The Princess wants to hire him based on his reputation, revealing that a thief called "The Whisperer" was the one who committed the crime and that the Princess' knights have captured three of his henchmen. The henchmen turn out to be three kittens called the Three Diablos. Though Puss cannot believe that such innocent creatures could be thieves, the princess and her guards are terrified of them. The kittens kindly agree to help Puss on the premise that they will be free if they return the ruby.

     When Puss takes the kittens to the desert, the kittens quickly turn on him  and bury him alive. Puss later escapes and recaptures the kittens using his wide eyes against theirs. Later, he talks about sending them back to jail for double-crossing him, but he learns that they have no family and are orphans like him. He then sympathetically tells them how he also knows it's tough not knowing who to trust and being led to the wrong path, making an example of how Humpty betrayed Puss, just as the Whisperer has done to them. Puss then decides to point the Diablos in the right direction and trains them how to fight and plays with them, becoming friends.

     The next day, the kittens, turning over a new leaf, show Puss to The Whisperer's secret hideout, and is immediately confronted by The Whisperer himself, who, by his name, has a low voice volume and uses his hat as a cone to speak clearly. It is also revealed that The Whisperer himself has used the heart as a decoration for his own belt. After learning that the Diablos brought Puss to him to recover the heart, the Whisperer is about to make them pay for their betrayal, but Puss fights him and lets the kittens escape. They, however, return to help Puss with what they learned from him and The Whisperer falls into a bottomless pit to his death. Puss then returns the heart to the Princess and is rewarded gold, and he gives the Princess the kittens as her new personal bodyguards. They then say their goodbyes; unfortunately, the guards slam the doors before he can finish his goodbye.

Dear Diary

Dear Ella,

Today I woke up at 9:15. As we were in Mangalia my family and I deceided to take the bus to Vama Veche and walk to 2 Mai on foot and then take the bus back to Mangalia. As soon as we ate breakfast we went to the bus station and got up in the bus. We arrived in Vama Veche and because the bus station was near the market , we went to buy some souvenirs. We bought some T-shirts. In the restaurants' yards we saw sad, hairy rockers drinking beer. We soon arrived on the beach and started walking till we arrived in 2 Mai. There,  because we had to wait for the bus, dad deceided to walk to Mangalia on foot. Although I was tired I agreed. We finally arrived in Mangalia at about 4 o'clock pm. We went to our hotel to have lunch. I have to say goodbye to you Ella because I'm very tired.

Animal Testing Essay

                                           Animal Testing

      Many experiments cause pain to animals involved or reduce their quality of live in other ways.
     Testing drugs and cosmetics on animals has some advantages. Firstly, people don't suffer. Secondly, people are protected. Moreover, the scientists discover threats for lethal diseases.
Testing on animals has some disadvantages. Firstly, it causes suffering to animals. Scientists predent that they don't know that the poor animals are hurt and that what they do is painful. Animals, like humans suffer when they are in these circumstances and aren't in their habits with their families. They suffer physically and psychically. Also, the benefits to human beings are not proven. Scientists only test medicines and cosmetics on animals, but animals aren't like humans, they are adapted  to live in  extreme conditions. Humans are only adapted to live in cities and towns. Plus every man and every woman are different, so the scintists should test on every person and not on animals. Furthemore, the ECO system may be destroyed. Taking animals from their habitats and not replacing helps the nature ruin.
     In my opinion, scientists shouldn't test drugs and cosmetics on animals. Personally I belive that the  experiments should be carried out using computer models and pogrammes.

Private schools essay

    Nowadays a great number of teenagers go to private schools, but is it good for their future?

    Learning in private schools has some advantages. Firstly, there are less children in the classroom so the teacher has more time to listen them.  Secondly, private schools have more options about optional subjects. Also, private schools encourage kids' abilities at different subjects. Their results are recognized all over Europe.      
     Learning in private schools has some disadvantages too. To begin with, private schools don't have certified teachers. In addition, private schools are allowed to expel kids only because they want to. Furthermore, private schools' taxes cost a lot.

     In conclusion, studying in private schools has both advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I belive that both public and particular schools should be supported.

MY SPRING BREAK

     My Easter break was a wonderful chance to spend my free time with my family.
     Because my grangfather was ill, had to go to visit him. We stood four days. In this time, I breathed fresh air, played with grandmother's animals: five cats, and a puppy named Bobby. I had a great feeling when I made my grandpa happy- listened to his boring stories.
     We spent the rest of the holiday at the seaside in Turkey. They don't have much to visit... but they have great services. A lot of clubs, hotels, everything your soul wants.  We went with my cousin so I had a lot of fun. Dad hired a coach to teach me how to surf, but I couldn't stay on the board. It is harder than snowboarding.  Although that, it was great ! Anyway, Turkey was wonderful.
     We returned to spend Easter at home. I helped my mum cleaning the house we painted eggs and did special Easter food. At Easter I went to the church in the morning because I wouldn't get up at night like my mum did. In the afternoon we had lunch. Mum and dad invited all the family and we had a lot of fun. I was given the gifts for Easter. I received clothes, swweth, necklaces and shoes. I was so happy!
     In the end of the holiday my parents, my brother and I went to the mountain and we met my aunt and uncle that had just arrived from Dubai.

     It was the best holiday ever!!!

 During the 1940 bombing of Finchley, London, the Pevensie children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, run away to the country home of Professor Digory Kirke, their relative.

While they are playing hide-and-seek, Lucy finds a wardrobe that leads to a world called Narnia, where it is always winter. She spends a few hours in the home of the faun, Mr. Tumnus, who tells her about Jadis, the White Witch, and how she cursed Narnia into being only winter for one hundred years. If they ever met a human, they had to bring them to her. However, Tumnus likes Lucy and does not want to kidnap her, so he instead takes her safely back home. When she returns, hardly any time has passed in the normal world, and when the other children check the Wardrobe, it does not lead to "Narnia".

A few days later, Edmund follows Lucy into the wardrobe, meeting the White Witch. She offers him Turkish Delight and asks Edmund to bring his brother and sisters to her castle, so that he can become her heir and the rest will serve him. Edmund agrees, and she leaves, just as Lucy meets Edmund. They return together, and Lucy tells Peter and Susan about how she went to Narnia again (this time with Edmund), but Edmund denies it. The Professor talks with Peter and Susan, and he tells them that Lucy might be telling the truth.

While running away from the housekeeper after accidentally breaking a window, the four siblings hide in the wardrobe and enter Narnia. They find out that Mr. Tumnus has already been taken by the Witch's secret police, and meet Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, who tell them about Aslan.

Edmund sneaks off to visit the Witch while they are at the Beaver's house. When he goes to her castle, she is angry that he came alone and without his siblings. The Witch sends wolves to find the children and the beavers, who barely escape. Edmund meets Tumnus while being chained in the Witch's dungeon. The Witch  turns Tumnus into stone and begins searching for the other children herself.

While Peter, Lucy, Susan and the beavers go to the Stone Table, they see what they think is the White Witch chasing after them, so they hide. It is actually Father Christmas, one of the signs that the Witch is getting weaker.

Pursued by wolves led by Maugrim, the group crosses a river. When they come to Aslan's camp, they meet Aslan, who is a huge and noble lion. Aslan promises to help Edmund in any way he can. Then Peter comes and kills Maugrim with his sword, and some of the troops of Aslan follow the other wolf to the witch's camp and rescue Edmund.

The White Witch goes to Aslan's camp and tries to take back Edmund, but Aslan says he will sacrifice himself instead. That night, as Lucy and Susan secretly watch, Aslan is killed by the White Witch at the Stone Table. In the morning he is resurrected because "there is a magic deeper still the Witch does not know". Aslan takes Susan and Lucy to the Witch's castle, where he turns the stone prisoners back to real life.

Edmund persuades Peter to battle with the Witch. Peter's army begins losing, and to stop the witch from turning others to stone, Edmund destroys the Witch's wand and gets stabbed while he does so. Then, as the Witch fights Peter, Aslan comes and kills her with his roar. The Pevensies become Kings and Queens, staying in Narnia until they are adults.

Fifteen years later they find the wardrobe and return to England, becoming children again. The professor enters the room and asks what they were doing. Peter replies, "You wouldn't believe us if we told you, sir." The professor tosses him the ball that broke the window and replies, "Try me."

I wanted to read this book because I saw  the movie. I recomend it to kids who like S.F. books.

The Perfect Holiday

I recommend you to go to Innsbruck, Austria if you like going in winter and ski or snowboard. The snow can get one metre high.In the summer you can go hiking or mountain biking. You can go parachuting, too. You can go there with your family or friends and stay in the fresh air at a nice hotel or in a tent  at  the camping sight and in the evening make a camping fire, of course if you aren't afraid of animals. In Innsbruck you can visit a lot of museums like the palace where Franz Joseph and his wife lived during winter.

Another destination is Creta, Greece. In Creta, summer is a good season to do some activities like snorkelling or wind surfing. If you don't like either of this sports you can sit on the beach for a few hours to get a tan. In the evening you can go to the beach and collect some shells or snails.

Where do you live?
I live in Bucharest, Romania.
Do you like living there? What is it like?
No, I don't because in this city there are a lot of gipsies and rubbish and a lot of pollution.
What kinds of facilities are there ?
In this city there are parks, clubs and spaces to work and entertaining places like malls. But there also are home facilities like energy, warm water, gas and heating.
Does your city/town have sports facilities, places to eat, cultural centres?
Yes, it has. In Bucharest there are sport clubs, a lot of restaurants, even Chinese, museums like THE ART MUSEUM and THE ANTIPA MUSEUM. There also are THE ZOO GARDEN and THE BOTHANIC GARDEN. In Bucharest are a lot of parks; malls, with places to skate and shop.
How about nightlife?
At night there are clubs.
Do you like your neighbourhood? What is it like?
No, I don't because it is a noisy place and there's a lot of rubbish.
Does it have parks and a lot of green spaces?
Yes, it does. There are a lot of big parks like HERASTRAU and CAROL and on every road there are trees and flowers.
What would you change about your neighbourhood if you could ? How do you think it can be improved?
It can be improved by cleaning the rubbish and reducing the pollution and diminuating the gipsies.
